Teen Mobile Seminar Schools Adults

cellphoneteens

Over at Springwise, they uncover a Dutch group that helps business folks and adults alike, acquire skills on the mobile platform. The twist is, these seminars are tought by teens and at 60 Euros and hour (roughly $95), that’s good business.

Bellendoejezo—which roughly translates to “this is how you make a call”—organizes cell phone workshops that cover topics such as using predictive text, creating contact groups, enabling Bluetooth and exploring mobile internet. Not all of the students’ students are equally advanced, though, so sometimes they’ll stick to the basics, like locking a phone’s keyboard, sending a text message and using voicemail.

Makes sense.

Microsoft Surface and AT&T Stores

surfaceattbig.jpg

The promise of the Microsoft Surface is now starting to come to life. AT&T is starting a roll out of the Surface as way to help demonstrate phone capabilities and provide services to existing phones while in store.

The big U.S. wireless provider says its retail customers will be able to place specific mobile phones on Surface’s 30-inch screen to learn about features, accessories and rate plans. They also will be able to compare two phones at a time, and use their hands to navigate a high-tech wireless coverage map.

AT&T says it plans to add more features later, such as the ability to select ringtones, graphics and other features by dragging icons of them across the screen and virtually “dropping” them onto the mobile phone.

Makes us think about the possiblities for all consumer electronics and future placements of the Surface.

PS3 Store

The PlayStation Online Store and mainly its navigation (or lack there of) has taken a lot of hits compared to its rival XBOX Live. Word on the street is that that the Playstation Store is getting ready to launch an upgrade that will help bolster its online offering.

Reports this morning surfaced that Sony’s PlayStation Store would be getting a revamp in Europe. As it turns out, the digital storefront will be overhauled here in the U.S. as well, Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed today. When it launches in mid-April (via a firmware update), the new PlayStation Store is expected to offer a “more dynamic look and improved navigation.”

Now with more reasons to check out PlayStation Online (see: BluRay), is Sony gearing up for a brawl come Holiday 2009?
